The bar chart indicates how many Australian man and women did regular physical activity in 2010.
Overall, it can be seen that the percentage of women who did regular physical activity was higher more than for all age groups, except the 15 to 24 age group.
Looking at the younger age groups in more detail, it is evident that 52.8% of men in the 15 to 24-age group exercised regularly, compared to 47.7% of women. However, the proportion of women in the 25 to 34 age group who did regularly physical activity was higher than for men, at 48.9% and 42.2% respectively. In the 35 and 44 age group, these numbers stood at 52.2% for women and 39.5% for men, which was the greatest difference of all age groups.
Turning to the older age groups, it is clear that the ratio of women in aged 45 to 54 who did regular physical activity stood at 53.3% for women as opposed to 43.1% for men. In the 55 to 64 category, 53% of women and 45.1% of men exercised regularly. Finally, 47.1% of women aged 65 and over and 46.7% of men in the same category exercised regularly, which was the smallest difference of all age categorized.
