The bar graph displays the number of males, females and kids consuming healthy food five times a day in the United Kingdom between 2001 and 2008.
Overall, among all the three demographics, the female group consumed healthy food the most at first glance, followed by the male group. The juvenile consumers, however, ate fruits and vegetables the least.
There was a steady rise for the female consumers since 2001, with more than 20 percent until a peak of 40 percent was reached in 2006. From there, the number dropped to almost one-third in 2008. As for the men, it was constant from 2001 to 2003 with 15 percent, and the consumption of fruits and vegetables had increased up to 28 percent in 2006 and it stayed unchanged in the following year, but the number declined to the under a quarter in 2008.
On the other hand, the trend appeared to be similar for the juvenile group but in much lower proportion as compared to their adult counterparts. The number of young consumers remained consistent from 2001 to 2003, between 10 and 15 per hundred, then rising steadily since 2004 until a peak slightly over a quarter out of hundred, and lastly a minor decrease to about one-fourth in 2008.
