The climograph depicts information on the average temperatures and rainfalls recorded on a monthly basis. The study covers the city of Kolkata.
Overall, it can be seen that May is the hottest month of the year in Kolkata while January and December has the least recorded temperature. It is also clear that the month with the most rainfalls is July while the least is December.
In detail, the temperature of Kolkata remarkably increases during the first five months of the year which begins in January at 20 degrees Celsius reaching a peak of over 30 degrees Celsius in May. However, over the succeeding months, a gradual decline is noted which dips to as low as 20 degrees Celsius by the end of the year. By comparison, this is almost the same as that which is recorded in the initial month of the year.
Concurrently, there is a significant increment in the precipitation rate from January to July starting at about 2 mm which dramatically increases to almost 350 mm. It makes a decrement until 325 mm within the following month and continues to decline over the next few months hitting a low of 1 mm by December making it the least recorded rainfall for the whole year.
