A nation should require all of its students to study the same national curriculum until they enter college
A nation consists of different cultute, different demographics as well as different intellect students from various parts. Clearly it is very difficult to manage if the students of different part of the nation follow dissimilar curriculum. I am completey agree with the fact that there should be same national curriculam until the students enter college. After entering the college they may take those subjects in which they are interested or want to persue further study.
A unified national curriculum not only shape all the students with similar education environment but also it will be easy to evaluate them with a single nation wide examination based on that unified curriculam. If different region follow different curriculam then proper evaluation may not be possible . Because it may be possible that some student may not exposed to certain part of the curriculum which is followed in some part of the country.
Also it is very easy to follow and implement rules and regulation if all the school level curriculum is in harmony. Any change in curriculum if need to introduce will be easy to implement if all follow the same . Like it may be possible that cnational education board want to introduce advanced mathematics in 7th standard instead of 8th standard . So if all follow the same curriculam then implementation will be very easy.
Lets take another example . College entrance test is very important to sort out the appropriate students for higher studies. Hence there is a single nation wide test for that evaluation. So if all the students follow the same curriculam in the school level then it is very easy to evaluate them. When all students exposed to the same curriculum in their school level then it is easy to evaluate and compare their merit. Otherwise it is not possible to evalute them under a same grading scale.
So in conclusion to bring harmony and make the education process scientific unified curriculum in the school level is required. Otherwise some meritorious students will not be evaluated properly. After that when they enter in the college they can choose their favourite subject for further study.This unfied implementation of national curriculum will bring harmony in grass root level of education.
