Public libraries should only provide books and should not waste their limited resources on expensive high-tech media such as software, videos or DVDs. Do you agree or disagree?

Although public libraries has been the store house of centuries of knowledge collected to educate the people about the inventions, historical events as well as unique ideas, however, with the advent of the 21st century, digital media has become the main source of storing these information. Even though, expensive equipment might be necessary to stop data as soft-copy or digital copies but recently this form of technology has become cheaper than hard-copy of the same materials. Hence, I disagree with the statement and would like to justify my argument in terms of cost and flexibility of electronic media.
