The chart above shows the tourists' preferences in 1999 among 4 kinds of attractions in Britain and the specific choices among five different theme parks in the same year. The overall preference was for theme parks, museums and galleries.
The theme parks were chosen by the majority of the interviewees, this option was followed by the museums and galleries, just a point below, with 37%. The 25% percent of the tourists chose the other two attractions: people who visited historic houses and monuments were the 16%, wildlife parks and zoos were the less preferred choice, with only 9% of the preferences.
Focusing on the Theme Parks, almost half of the visitors chose the Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Alton Towers was the choice of the 17% of the tourists, just above Pleasureland in Southport which gained 16% of the preferences. The fewer favourite parks were World of Adventures in Chessington and Legoland in Windsor equally reached 10%.
