The diagram illustrates the process in which electricity is produced in a hydroelectric power station and transferred to the national grid.
Overall, this is a man-made and intricate process, beginning from stilling river behind a dam and culminating in producing electric power.
Firstly, river waters are accumulated behind the dam in the high-level reservoir.in the next step, during the dayو intake is opened and flow of water is entered the power station where the energy of falling water is captured and turned into electricity. In fact, it is known as hydroelectric power which kinetic energy of falling water into mechanical energy and then a generator converts the mechanical energy from the turbine into electrical energy and transferred that to the national grid. At the end of the process, the waters enter the low-level reservoir.
But in the night everything is different. The intake, which was opened during the day, is closed at night. Also, there are reversible turbines which pump water from the low-level reservoir into the high-level reservoir
