The bar graph illustrates the percentage of people in UK who ate five portions of fruits and vegetables per day from 2001 to 2008.
At first glance to the graph it is clear that in 8 years womens’ percentage was the most as the consumer of five portions of fruit and vegetables. After women come men and children, respectively. Except children, proportion increased in the other two categories until 2006, after which they started to fall gradually. In 2001, little more than 20% of women ate five portions of fruits and vegetables which increased in a regular trend that peaked in the year 2006 to about 35%. Then it decreased to 30% in 2008.
Percentage of men were roughly the same from 2001 to 2003, followed by a considerable increase in 2004 that continued until 2006, when it stagnated at around 28% but decreased a little from 2007 to 2008.
The percentage of children also shows almost the same trend as men. It was the same from 2001 to 2003, a little more than 10%. In 2004 it had a significant increase in percentage that peaked in 2007 at about 25% which slightly decreased in the following year.
