The reading claims that some critics have raised doubt about the accuracy of the Chevalier memoir and it states that Chevalier invented many events in the memoir to make his life seem more exciting and it provides three reasons of support. In contrast, the lecture states that it is accurate and relaible sources and it refutes each of the author's reasons.

First, the article asserts that in his memoir the Chevalier claims that while living in Switzerland, he was wealthy, and evidence has surfaced that the Chevalier borrowed sums of money from a Swiss merchant. On the other hand, the professor opposes this point by saying that it is true that Chevalier borrowed loan from the merchant but that doesn't mean that Chevalier was poor. She states that he had proparty so he had to sell it first and converted it to cash money. when he run his cash, he borrowed money because he was waiting his money to arrive.

Second, the passage posits that critics are also skeptical about the accuracy of the conversations that the Chevalier records in the memoir between himself and the famous writer Voltair. Conversely, the professor counters this point by explaining that he stated each each conversation each night after conversation and he wrote down each one. Then the Chevalier refered to them when he wrote his memoir. According to the professor, witness confirmed that he used journals to write down the conversations.

Third, the article argues that critics have questioned the memoir's account of the Chevalier's escape from a prsison in Venice by using a metal to make a hole in the ceiling. However, the professor contends this point by saying that other prisoners has more powerful than him and they didn't able to escape but he best evidence is that Venice's governemnt, after his escape, had been repaired the ceiling of the prison which approved that he escaped from the prison.

You need to learn academic essay writing. The sentences for essay writing are different to sentences for our daily spoken English. For example, compare those two sentences:

A: I like the car. The color of the car is red.

B: The red car strikes my heart.

While A is for spoken English, B is for academic essay writing. Did you get the point?
