The graphs illustrate about the number of people in Japan from 1950 to 2055. It is cogent from the table that the number of people, who is 65 years old or above, increased since 1950.
Overall, the unit of population is measured in millions. Although the number of people in Japan fluctuated during 105-year span, between 1950 to 2055, the count of older people, age 65 and above rose significantely.
In 1950 the total number of Japanees people was 84.1 millions, which was the lowest count of population but it went up dramatically and reached to its apogee, 127.8 millions in 2005. Aditionally, as per the projection this number will be dropped drastically in 2055 and reach to 89.9 millions. From 1970 to 1975, this number experienced the highest increase of 7.4 millions (104.5 millions and 111.9 millions respectively). However, as per the expectation the population will decreased to its maximum level during 2035 and 2055. (From 110 milions to 89.9 millions)
Conversely, the lowest percentage of 65 years old and above people was in the year 1950, which was 4.9%. After that it rocketed to 20.0% in the year 2005. According to the future projection, this percentage will be increased to 41 in 2055. Despite of that, as per the expectation the old age population will be dropped slightly from 2035 and 2055(37.2 and 36.5 respectively).
