Although you have never formally studied computing, you have always been interested in computers. You have just read about a computer course that really interests you, but it is only for people who have completed an elementary course.
Write a letter to the college enrolment officer. In your letter
• explain why you are writing
• describe your circumstances
• ask if a special exception can be made for you so you can enrol in the course
Dear Sir/Madam,
I’m writing in connection with the Photoshop Computer course that you offer. I’m not a student of computers but am really keen on learning it.
I read about the said course on the internet and instantly knew that I wanted to do it. Though I always desired to graduate as a computer student, my university in Mumbai didn’t offer one and I didn’t have the financial resources to move to another city at that time. But now since I’m well settled I wish to explore courses in this field. Unfortunately I read that to be eligible for this course you need to have done the elementary course first. Since I am moving out of Delhi after 2 months and have free time only on the weekends, it would be difficult for me to spare enough time to complete the elementary course and join the Photoshop course thereafter. Considering that I am a Fine Arts student this course could also be very useful for my career.
I’d be grateful if you could make an exception for me and permit me to enrol in this course.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours Faithfully,
Aditi
