TPO 51 Integrated Task
The reading discusses some amazing and fascinating facts about the elephants. The author mentions some of the agreements which represents the elephants one of the most captivating creatureon Earth. In contrast, the speaker says that the arguments described bt the author are just misundrestanding, in spite of her beliefe about elephants that they are fascinating.
First of all, the passage expresses that these animals are aware of their death. elephants leave their herd and group and go to somewhere where is nobody there to die alone. The author mentions numerous bones found near the water area as evidence and approval of this fact. Although, the lecturer states that leaving the herd is for seeking soft plants because they are old, so they aren't capable of eating all kind of food.
Second, the article points out their intelligence by mentioning their painting skill. The author mentions that if we give them a brush, they would maintain the brush by their trunck and paint on the canvas. In comparison, the lecturer expresses that it is not certainly because of their intelligence. they put the brush on the canvas as a reaction of touching their ears. when researchers touch their ears, it seems that they paint on the cacvas.
Finally, on the basis of the lecture, when the elephants see any unfamiliar animals such as mice, they will react to this unfamiliar animal. According to the lecturer, this reaction doesn't represent their fear. that's how the speaker opposes the last statement about elephants explained by the author.
