The pie charts indicate the water consumption in different sections including industrial, agricultural, and domestic by percentage in six different parts of the world.
While the majority of water consumed in South America, Africa, Central Asia, and South East Asia in the agricultural section, in Europe and North America great amount of water consumption associated with industrial area.
As can be seen from the pie charts, while Central Asia, Africa and South East Asia used more than 80% of their water resources in farming, these percents were lower than 10% for domestic usage
(7%,9%,7% respectively). The percent of consumption of water in industrial area was also very low about 5% for Central Asia, 7% for Africa and 12% for South East Asia. In South America, although agriculture is a main user of water with 71%, domestic usage by 19% is higher than industry by 10% in this region.
In more industrialized countries in North America and Europe, the majority of their consumption is attributed to industry (48% and 53% respectively). The percentage of water consumption in other areas with an insignificant different are like each other, 39% and 32% for agriculture and 13% and 15% for domestic user respectively.
