The pie charts illustrate the water utilization for three main purposes in six regions of the world. Overall, a considerable amount of water is used for industrial purpose and agricultural purpose, while the least amount of water is consumed for domestic use.

As can be seen from the pie graphs, the water consumption in both North America and Europe share a similar composition. To be more specific, in both continents, about a half amount of the water is required in industrial sectors, nearly one-third is spent on cultivating crops, and only 13% to 15% for people’s family use.
