The graph shows data about the number of British people who donate money to charities according to ages in the years 1990 and 2010.
Overall the percentage of donators people before and after the age of 50 share different patterns. donations from the three younger groups of people declined remarkably in 2010 compared to 1990, while that of people aged over 50 witnessed an opposite trend.
In 1990 the age group of 36-50 donated money more than other people at 42%, while the 18-25s contributed the least, at only 17%. However, by 2010, these figures had declined significantly to 35% and 5% respectively.
While donations up to the age of 50 declined across the two years, they rose among the 51-65 age-group from 35% to nearly 40%, which was the highest figure in 2010. Also, 26-35 aged people declined by around 7% in donations between the years. The figure for people who were over 65s in 2010 was lower than this, but it was still a little higher than the 1990 figure, at 32%.
