The pie charts illustrates the percentage of household expense in 2 countries Japan and Malaysia in the year 2010. As can be seen from the charts, Malaysia and Japan were both countries which spent less money on Health care, nevertheless, the proportion of household expense in Malaysia was highest in Housing, meanwhile, Japanese expended more money in other goods and services.

In the same year, household expenditure in Transport in Japan was 2 times as much as the figure for Malaysia, from 20% to 10%. The rate of household expenditure in Housing in Malaysia was highest, accounting for 34% of total family expense, tying with 21% of Japan. Malaysian and Japanese consumers allocated on Food was approximately the same, at about 27% and 24%, respectively.

In addition, the proportion of household spending in Japan was twice as much as the data for Malaysia, at 6% and 3%, in that order. Family spending on Other goods and services in Malaysia was over one-quarter of total, meanwhile, this figure for Japan was increased by 3% to reach 29% in 2010.
