Living in a country where you have to speak a foreign language can cause severe social problems as well as practical problems.
To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?
People are living in multilingual globe, and the most of the languages are unique from each other. Spending time and working in a different country whose communication medium is different from native language always create several issues. This essay will explain why staying in a non-native speaking nation is challenging, but there is some merits as well.
As the businesses are growing beyond the boundaries of a country, many people are working in different cultural society. The basic mode of our communication is the language, and when a person is placed in a country where colloquial medium is different, the person starts facing numerous obstacles. Firstly, one won't be able to share his feeling in unknown part of the world if the language is totally different, which leads to depression and loneliness. Secondly, the most persons find it extremely difficult to mingle with persons of other language. For instance, the southern people of India speak Tamil, which is opposite to the language spoken in northern part of India. Thus, southern people try to avoid to work in northern part of India and vice versa. Lastly, language defines a community, hence food habits, attires and livelihood change accordingly. Therefore, it will be challenging for a person to cope up with new society, where basic food habits are different. For example, people from other county find it harsh to adjust with Indian food, which is rich in spices. At the same time, Indians find it difficult to manage with non-vegetarian food, when they have to work in a foreign land.
However, despite humongous issues, language diversity teaches us how to manage our self in a different culture, moves us from our comfort zone. All these positives always help people to nourish his personality. Indeed, working in lingual diverse society helps a person to know his demerits and enables him/her to overcome negatives circumstances.
To conclude, although working in a non-native speaking country is tough not only in terms of communication with locals but also to survive with the local foods. However, language diversity let us know our shortcomings and enables are managing spirits.
