Without a shadow of doubt, there are many factors that people should take into account when they behave infront of a public situation. In my opinion, as far as the culture, politeness, and righteous are concerned, I firmly hold the position that people should wait for the lecture or meeting over to talk about the mistake with the teacher or leader. There are many reasons, and I will illustrate further in the following paragraphs.
First and foremost, in some culture, it will be extremely impolite to point out someone's mistake in public when they still talking, especially that this someone is your teacher or leader, who you should show some respect. For example, in the workplace, if we interrupt our leader in the meeting, the leader will feel that he was not respected. And the consequence of this maybe pretty bad, he may get mad at us or even deliberately ignore us. Therefore, we should adequately consider other people's feeling and the self-esteem of those who in a high position.
Furthermore, have a conversation about people's mistake with them in a more private place will promote our relationship with them. I have to admit that my opinion on this matter has been profoundly influenced by my own experience. Just take the case of mother, who is a completed career-oriented women and work in a huge international company as a counselor. My mother once told me a story about her and her boss when she still a nobody at the company. During a internal meeting, her boss make a mistake of a deductive about an important result, instead of correcting her boss instantly, my mother choose to send a detailed email to her boss and explain her conclusion. As an result, the boss notice her ability of taking care of others' feelings, and her analysis skill. Before long, my mother get her promotion.
Nevertheless, there still a voice assert that people always have the option to say nothing because it is also polite. However, as I said in the beginning of this article, righteous and integrity matters. You can imagine a society that everyone be advocated to remain silence just for courtesy, it will absolutely a disaster. I think we should uphold the culture of pointing out the false in condition of protecting the dignity of others.
In a nutshell, based on the above-mentioned considerations, I maintain that we should raise the mistake after other people leave rather than saying outloud in public or keep quiet about it. Admittedly, I understand that every individual has their own perspective and judgment.
However, I strongly believe that they will compromise after reading my article.
