The lecture and reading are both about the causing of the little ice age. The professor mentions those reasons, which are stated in the reading, are unconvincing for the following reasons.
first of all, the trouble of the Gulf stream. The teacher says that the Golf stream was impacted only America and Urapa. He mentions that South Africa and Newsland were cold but the Golf stream was not reached them. That meant this stream was not impacted on reducing the temperature at the ice age. However, passage asserts that the Golf stream was influenced on reducing the temperature.
Secondly, the problem of volcanic eruption. The lecturer says that it is true that the volcanic eruption produces sulfur gas and dust. These products can change the color of sunlight and snow. He mentions that this change did not happen in the little ice age. As a result, the volcanic eruption was not strong enough to make these colors change. Consequently, The volcanic eruption did not responsible for a long period of the ice age.
finally, the issue of the reducing population, The teacher says that people increased at that time and they began to use the forest in agriculture. Also, they cut the tree in a big area from the forest. As a result, the number of population and the carbon dioxide increased. that meant number of people did not have a relationship with long ice age
