The given chart compares the proportion of people who surf the internet on a daily basis in UK between 2003 and 2006. The information is divided into five different age groups.
Overall, people who aged between 16 and 24 are more into the internet with the highest percentage of active internet users. Also, the proportion of British adults who use the internet every day showed an upward trend across all age groups.
To be precise, 70% of 16-24-year old British use the internet every single day. Before this figure fell back to 75% a year later, it reached its peak at 85% in 2005. For those who fall into the 25 to 24 age bracket, the trajectory was consistently rising and then reaching the most identical level to that of 16-24-year old British in 2006. However, the percentage of British who aged 35~44 fluctuated between 58% to 79% while that of 16-24-year old sharply rose from 30% to 49% during the same period. Despite still less than 20%, the participation rate of citizens who aged over 65 reached its peak at 19% in 2004.
