The presented table shows the information about the spread of languages such as Mandarin Chinese, Hindi, Spanish, English, Arabic, Portuguese among people, who are native speakers and who know language as a complement.
Overall, although the number of people who are native of Mandarin Chinese exceeds the amount of people with other languages, English as an additional language, which is more distributive.
It is observed that the number of native speakers more than speakers from other countries, except English, where people who know English as a second language surpass native twice. There are a lot of native speakers of Mandarin Chinese, their number exceeds Hindi, Spanish and English speakers more than 500 million of people. People who speak Arabic and Portuguese are similar in number with 206 million and 203 million respectively.
The number of speakers as an additional language is different. That is remarkable that the amount of English speakers equals 603 million. It is more than 3 times in contrast with the number of other languages speakers. Difference between Mandarin Chinese and Hindi consists of 70 million. In addition, Spanish, Arabic and Portuguese languages are less spread.
The total number of Mandarin Chinese is 1,090 million. The English language takes the second place, and the number of speakers equals 942 million. There are the fewest Portuguese speakers (213 million).
