Wild tuna, a species of large ocean fish, have decreased in number because of overfishing Recently, attempts have been made to farm tuna by feeding the fish in ocean cages until they become large enough for sale. However, tuna farming has faced several problems and criticisms.
In the reading talks about the growh and nurture young wild tuna in the captivity in order to get adult to sell. Also, there claimed some disadvantege of captivity of tuna for this method that needs to pay attention.
I the beginning, the author stated that the female tune do not lay on the eggs because of the captivity and the farmer had to capture a lot of young tuna to stock their field. This process will be caused the population of tuna decreased for long time. On the other hands, The speaker elaborate that the female can lay on their eggs if the farmer have injected special hormoen in captivity environment.
Moreover, the reading proposed that the tuna needs a plenty voulme of small fish in order to growth and reproduction because one of the tune should reach to nearly 700 kg then consequently fed a lotof food. providing the higih voulme of food is very costly and expensive for farmer. Conversly, the professor assereted that some of plant can replced for tuna food. this plant can give proper nutrient to feed the tuna.
Finally, the author stated that some of inherent disease such as blood floading caused lot of tuna weaked and died. This infection steamed from an paradsite that widespread in bloods cycle of tuna. The speaker saied that there are some way to control of this deseae by special treatemnt. He said that In a farm in Australia some of farmer can treat tun if they swin in deeper water in gowing pools. or their career and personal living.
