Overall, it is seen clearly from the given bar chart. Residents were higher than non-resident in the first four years in car journeys, which changed in reverse in the next years. Also, new parking meters had been add to the city.
To embarks with, in 1996, the number of residents who visited a city center by their cars was near 9500 journeys per day, which was five times more than non-residents. In the following three years, the rate of residents fluctuated between 9000 and 10000 journeys per day, whereas non-residents showed an upward trend from 4000 to 8500 journeys per day. There were parking meters had been added into a city center.
Furthermore, from 2000 to 2003, non-residents overtook residents in terms of car journeys it accounted that over average 7000 journeys per day in all years, which was double of residents. Moreover, in 2002, the wastegate and park lane closed due to traffic. The total number of residents and non-residents were 4000 and 2900 per day respectively in 2003. However, the resident car journey rate decreased to 2800, and the non-residents’ rate of journey inclined to 4500 journeys per day in 2005.
