The recent years have witnessed a steadily growing role of the Internet in daily life. Actions like shopping, booking holidays, checking the bank account often perceived as a waste of time, can these days easily carried out thanks the Internet. Concerns about safety have been risen and whether the benefits of relying on this technology outweigh the negative sides is still up for debate. I firmly believe that the Internet is instrumental in supporting us in numerous fields and that the less brighter aspects of it can not obscure the positive influence on our life.
Probably the most advanced breakthrough of the past century, the possibilities granted by the Internet are migrating regularly into daily life. This technology allow us to spare time and energy that we can invest in learning or exercising. Contrary to what some people are trying to tout, using the Internet is basically safe. Of course, cyber crime does exist but taking simple precautions like installing antivirus programs and updating the operating system, is enough to avert serious damage. Once the user has set up those easy steps there is no need to worry and accessing the Internet is worth a try. Beyond the endless content of information, the Internet can also support us in handling tedious tasks like paying bills or searching for items in overcrowded malls. With a couple of clicks and often with prices below the average, goods can be quickly ordered and shipped to our address without living home. Moreover, checking the bank account is far more comfortable from a computer than heading for the bank. In most cases one has to wait for a long time, just to know how much money on the account is left. Even in fields like booking holiday and hotel, the Internet has showed its potential. These days users are able to explore exotic places, reserve a car, pick up a hotel, and book the cheapest flights in a matter of minutes. Hard to believe, but not such a long time ago, all those actions would have requested days, maybe weeks, to be successfully completed.
In conclusion, I firmly believe that the Internet should be a constant part of our daily life and concerns about safety are just unnecessary alarming and unjustified. Dangers are everywhere, when we cross the street, when we drive, even when we stay home. Taking basic safety precautions is all users need to surf the Internet and profit from the benefits of this extraordinary tool.
