The line graph below provides information on various kind of turtle found in India during time frame of 1960 to 2012. In graph four categories of turtles which observed in India was Olive Ridly turtle, Green turtles, Leatherback turtle and all other species.
If we summarized the whole data in 1960 variety of turtle population had same number which abruptly changed through the years, and in 2012 Oliver Ridly turtles population peaked on the other hand Green and Leatherback turtle population plunged.
The proportion of Olive Ridley turtle was 100 index in 1960, which gradually increased with each passing year and in 1996 mounted index was130. From 1996 onward the population growth rate irregularly enhanced and fall till 2012 when this index was 120. However, this particular type of turtle showed advance growth from rest of others. The second kind which shows minute rise in index was all species of turtle, although, its index rise and fall was abrupt during given time period and in 2012 its index reached to 110 from 100 in 1996.
The Green turtle population slightly increased in some initial years from 1960 but from 1962 onward started declining without any considerable uniformity and peaked around 2000 when their number was 120. But in very next years its again showed decrease in number and in 2012 reached to 90 individuals of this type. In case of leather back turtle which also showed growth rate till 1987 when its numbers was 120 but after each passing year turned disadvantageous for it as its number declined massively and in 2012 only less than 50 individual observed which number is near to extinction.
