The charts below show water use by different sectors in Sydney, Australia, in 1997 and 2007.

The pie charts illustrate the amount of water used in five distinct fields in Australia between 1997 and 2007.
Overall, it is clear that almost water was allocated for the food industry in the period shown, despite the slight decline. In addition, while sectors relating to service and housing witnessed various levels of increase, the remaining categories experienced the opposite trend.
Turning into detail, in 1997, Food products utilized 48% of total water usage while this figure for the building industry accounted for only 5%. Ten years later, in 2007, there was a slight decrease in both industries, resulted in the number at 41% and just 2% respectively. Also, the same tendency happened to manufacture, which fell from 15% in 1997 to 11% in 2007.
Regards to other sectors, the amount of water used in the household made up 19%, outnumbering the service industry which reached 13% in 1997. However, in 2007, this figure for service rose to 25%, exceeding the volume of water for the household, which occupied 21%.
