Overall, the desalination begins with purifying water by filter and ends with storing to intergrate water supply system.
First of all, water is taken from the sea and then passed to a pre-treatment filter where big impurities are washed and piped back into the sea through another filter. At the next stage of the process, the remaining water is forced through a membrane at high pressure and any impurities including salt are removed.
Once this step is done, the seawater concentrate is returned to the sea while the remaining water goes through a post-treatment stage. In this step, it is treated with lime, chlorine, and fluoride in order to be drinkable before it is stored. After that, it is contributed to water supply system for people to use as drinking water.
