The bar chart illustrates the total demographic rate in India, China, the USA, Japan in three different years, 1950, 2002, and an estimate for the future in 2050.
Overall, it is clear that India and China were and will account for the highest and second-highest numbers compared to the data of the other two countries. In particular, the total population percentage of China, the USA, Japan experienced a downward trend over the course of 52 years and will continue to decrease in 2050 whereas India witnessed an opposite trend throughout the same period.
In 1950, China registered the highest world population level, at about 23%, followed by India, with 15%. The remaining two numbers of the United States and Japan do not have much difference, at 8% and 4% respectively. In 2002, the figures for China and Japan dropped to 20% and approximately 3% in turn and is predicted to keep on falling to 15% and just around 2% sequentially in 2050.
The proportion of world demographics in the USA declined about 4% in 2002 and will remain unchanged in the next 48 years. An opposite trend was seen in India, this number progressively rose to 14% in 2002 and is projected to grow by 18% by 2050.
