A large company in your area has decided to spend a certain amount of money, either to sponsor a local children's sports team for two years, or to pay for two open-air concerts. It has asked for feedback from the general public.
Write a letter to the company. In your letter
- describe the benefits of sponsoring the sports team
- summarize the benefits of paying for the concerts
- say how you think the company should spend the money
Dear Sir or Madam,
I have heard about the company’s generous contribution towards the community and writing to you regarding the feedback requested on the same.
Our community has been organizing a large number of events every year, one of which is the open-sir concerts. Local artists are encouraged to perform at these concerts and to provide knowledge about traditional music which was thought to be lost in time. It would be a great boost to the community if the open-air concerts were to be supported by your company. The communal economy would improve a lot as it would invite people from various areas to participate and experience the beauty of such concerts.
Apart from concerts, we have a local children’s sports team which is performing quite well in the Inter-state championship tournament from the past 2 years. They are consecutive winners of the championship for 2 years. They are hoping to enter National Championship next year and it would be great if you could support the team. The community will be recognized as a result of the children’s achievement which would in return boost our economy.
In my opinion, you should support the events equally instead of completely ignoring the either. I hope this helps in your decision making.
Yours faithfully,
Shalaka
