oth the reading and listening discuss whether crewless ships are advantageous or not. The former states that these ships are fruitful for three reasons, but the latter rejects each of these three points.
First of all, the passage claims that crewless ships are advantageous because they reduce the cost of labours and there are no need for any cost that involve with foods, air conditions, leaving spaces for the workers. On the other hand, the lecture argues that these workers are essential because they take care of the ship during its sailing time and they do necessary maintenance during this time. Moreove, in a crewless ship it not possible to do any maintenace before arraiving to the destination and this can cost a lot of money.
Second of all, the article asserts that crewless ships are less targeted by the pirates because they can not take any hostages. However, the lecturer rejects this statement by saying that high tech pirates can easily get control of these ships by hacking and in this process they can take the ship any place they want. In addition, they can also use as much time they want to get the valuable items in this process.
Finally, the writer argues that crewless ships are less likely to have accident because it is controlled by computer and sensors as most of the ships that fall into accident are due to lack of human reactions. In contrast, the speaker rebuts that most of the ships fall into accidents because it take long time to change its course. Furthermore, the computer in a crewless ships can only work in a predictable way but in case of a human operator they can take variety of dicisition and reacts with this accordingly.
