The graphs illustrate the number of pineapples exported from 3 diffierent nations in the years of 2009 and 2019, along with the elements affecting to the price of a pineapple by 2019.
It can be clearly seen in the first bar chart that country A and C had a rise in world pineapple exports. Particularly, country A gained a rocket figure which was from around 1 million metric tonnes in the first year shown to over 10 million metric tonnes in the later year. Meanwhile, country C achieved a slight excess in 2019 with about 0.5 million metric tonnes. In contrast, country B was the only nation having a slump in the amount of exported pineapples. It decreased from nearly 5 million metric tonnes to just less than 2 million metric tonnes in the same period compared. However, it was still much higher than country C in which was considered as the weakest pineapple-producing countries among the three.
On the other hand, the pie chart shows us the largest ratio in breakdown of cost per pineapple was for distribution & retail (35%). Unlike the export costs possessed the lowest rate (only 4%). Hence, export costs obviously did not influence on the price charge consumers as other types of costs. There were also 5 out of 8 elements having the percentage of 10% and above, which were import licences, international transport, taxes, profit and distribution & retail.
