Given are two categories providing the amount of money paid on watching films in the period of 6 years from 2005 to 2011 as well as the proportion of market shares represemted in three forms in 2005 and 2011.
It is apparent that the price of watching film in all three different forms exeperiend an upward trend in the recorded period and the cost of cinema ticket was the highest through the recorded period. It is also noticeable that renting a DVD accounted the largest share of the market in both 2005 and 2011.
Starting from approximately 9 pounds in 2005, the cost of cinema ticket reaced 12 pounds in 2007 and experienced a slightly increasing period.From 2009, the price of cinema ticket witnessed a growth with higher rate until reaching its peak a 14 pounds in 2011. Concering the cost of legal download, first recorded at 8 pounds in 2005, it saw a dramatic decrease to 6 pounds in 2007. The subsequence decade, however, witnessed a gradual growth until peaking at over 8 pounds in 2011. Starting at the lowest position at 6 pounds in 2005, the cost of DVD growth gradually to about 7 pounds in 2007. This was followed by a stable period before increasing marginally to 8 pounds in 2011.
When it came to the market share of three forms of watching films, people spent most of their money on renting a DVD as it accounted more than half of the total share in both 2005 and 2011. Experiencing an increase from 6% in 2005 to 26% in 2011, the proportion of waching film online( legal download) came at the second place in 2011 while that of going to the cinema came at the third place after witnessing a drop by 12%.
