The diagram below shows how to operate a hot air balloon.
The diagram above indicates the working of a hot air balloon. Overall, it is apparent that the envelope is the largest part of this means of transport, while propane is used to make hot air.
Initially, the upper part, which is called the envelope, resembles an inverted onion. The basket at the bottom consists of a propane cylinder, where the propane is mixed with air in the burner to create flame to heat the atmosphere. When the air reaches the needed temperature, the balloon can rise above the ground, since the weight of hot air is smaller than the cool atmosphere.
The envelope is also covered by many gores and in the lower part, there is a skirt attached to the basket by ropes. A parachute valve is located at the top of the balloon which can be understood as a self-sealing slap, it allows the pilot to control the air escaping rate.
