The tables illustrate the average number of hours worked by full-time and part-time workers in three countries of Europe compared with the average data of European for 2002.
In general, the average working hours of male workers was higher than that of females. It was immuatably true that Greece was the country requiring the highest working hours.
In 2002, the average number of hours worked by full-time workers in Greece was 39.9 with females and 42.2 with males. Meanwhile, Netherland came in the second with the data of both sexes was 38.0. The country which citizens required the lowest working hours was UK with the average working hours of female workers was 37 and that of males was 37.5. It could be manifest from the tables that the data of UK was lower than the average working hours in Europe which was 39.2 and 40.4 respectively.
The average number of hours worked by part-time workers in Europe was 34 and 32 for women and men which was higher than the data of three given countries in the region. The figure of part-time workers in Greece and UK saw the similar feature with the average working hours for full-time workers which men were required working harder than women. In contrast, Netherland was the only objects in three given countries allowing male part-time workers working 0.9 hours less than females.
