The table below shows the figures for imprisonment in five countries between 1930 and 1980.
Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information shown below.

The table presents data concerning confinement trends in five different countries over a 50-years period.

In general, each country had experienced the different trends over the given period. USA, for instance, got the highest imprisonment rate compared with others.

More specifically, USA just took around 100 in 1930. Afterwards, the level of confinement in USA was getting fluctuated before reaching a peak in 1980 . Unlike in USA, though fluctuations also happened in Australia and New Zealand, at the end of the period, the number of imprisonment had declined.

However, regarding Great Britain and Canada, both had a contrasting trend. In Great Britain, incarceration levels had surged gradually from just over 20 in 1990 to about 80 in 1980. On the other hand, Canada that had the highest level in 1930, with the slight fluctuations, the trend fell gradually through the period. Moreover, this gradual downward made Canada got almost the same number of confined people as Great Britain and New Zealand had in 1980.
