The chart compares different percentages of American people eating junk food, categorized by how often they consumed it in the three years of 2003, 2006 and 2013.
Overall, the percentage of people who ate fast food once a week and once or twice a month was the highest in the mentioned years, while the smallest figure went to those who ate it every day and never tried one. It is also apparent that there was an increase in the rate of people who consumed junk food once or twice a month and a few times a year whereas the remaining all decreased.
Regarding the chart of once a week consumers, the figure started at 31% in 2003 then went up slightly to 34% 3 years later, which became the highest pre percentage in that year, before falling to 28% in 2013. As opposed to the pattern of people who ate junk food once or twice a week which witnessed a decline in the middle year from 30% to 25%, then rose to 34% in 2013.
The percentage of people who ate out several times a week was 18% in 2005 then reached the peak at 20% before falling to 16% at the end. 13% was the original figure of people who had junk food a few times a year then it remained unchanged in the 2 surveyed years at 15%. A similar pattern can be seen in the case of people who ate it everyday and those who never had once, starting at 4% and 5% in 2003 and stayed at 3% and 4% respectively in the two other years.
