WRITING TASK 1 LINE GRAPH: AVERAGE CO2 EMISSIONS PER PERSON
The line graph depicts the information about the intermediate carbon dioxide emissions per person in four different countries United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy and Portugal from 1967 to 2007.
It is clear from the graph that there was a similar downward trend in United Kingdom and Sweden whereas in Italy and Portugal experienced a contrasting movement over the given period.
It could be easily observed seen from the graph that the average carbon dioxide emissions per person in United Kingdom and Sweden were higher around 10.5 metric tones and 8.5 metric tones in 1967. In 1987, the number of carbon dioxide exhaust gas in the UK stood at 10 metric tones, compared to 8 metric tones per person in Sweden. In the next 20 years, the UK witnessed a mild decrease in the emissions around 8.5 metric tones while the figure for emissions in Sweden decrease dramatically to 5.5 metric tones in 2007.
It can be seen that in Italy and Portugal were noticeably lower at 4.2 metric tones and 1 metric tones in 1967. From 1967 to 1987, the proportion for emissions in Italy increased remarkably by 6.5 metric tones, then continued its upward trend more substantially to 7.6 metric tones in 2007. With the emissions in Portugal there was a significant increase of 3.5 metric tones between 1967 and 1987, which was followed by a slight a rise to 4.5 in 2007.
