The maps below show the changes that have taken place at the waterfront area of a town called Darwin between 2009 and 2014
The given maps illustrate how the waterside area of a town named Darwin has changed from 2009 to 2014.
Overall, the northern scene significantly changed with the construction of the replacement of the industrial area including residential, recreational and academic amenities in the period of 15 years starting from 2009. The change in the given period consisted of the development of transport infrastructure in the southern area as well.
North of the map, the region on the left of the lake in 2009 which used to be covered by an industrial zone turned into a swimming pool in 2014. In addition, more buildings located in the residential area and a university building nearby were built in 2014. However, there was no change with the convention center, school and two large swimming pools between 2009 and 2014.
To the south, the major area which was surrounded by an industrial section in 2009 was obliterated after 5 years to make room for a large green space with a lot of trees. Moreover, there was a new harbour on the seashore and a footpath connecting the harbour with the west main road of the town from 2009 to 2014.
