technolgy advance car are good or not
The article states that as technology will provide smart car, that has computer set up and drive by itself causes many benefits like drive safely, quicker and less expensive. However, the professor sees flaws in this article and explained every point in her lecture.
To begin with the first point illustrated by author about advance cars is, they will prevent many accidents and save many lives because they have special sensor that can detect obstacle, automatic brake. However, the professor explained a legitimate point against this benefit is that there are chances that technology fails, and when this will happen it could make the situation more devastating. As there will be many cars driving on road, and fails its sensor and collide with other, this will cause pileup accidents as car was drive by technology and no way to prevent this situation and ultimately it could cause more accidents and no chance to save life.
To move on next point stated by the author is that traffic problem will disappear, and commuting by a car also cause advantage as most people travel by a car, and it is maintaining a good people prefer it more. The professor again disagree with this point and illustrated that it is correct if technology increases highway speed cause less commuting time. However, the points to focus is more people will drive as driving is convincing causes increase in traffic and again situation become same as started more traffic and less commuting.
The another point made by author is that it lead to less expenses spend on repair and replacement because smart cars are programmed to drive the most direct routes. The professors sees flaws in this statement too. She stated that the sensor, smart car uses is of much cost and if this get any problem then could lead to a more expense then normal car, normal repair.
