The given pie charts provide information about the different objectives for which water is used in six regions of the world.
In North America, maximum amount of water is used for industrial purposes, at 48%. About 40% of water is used in fields and 13% in houses. South Amercian farmers use most of the water, even more than two-third of total water available. Water usage for domestic purposes is just below 1 one-fifth of total proportion, followed by industries at 10%.
In Europe, industrial objective of water consumption is 53%, followed by agriculture at 32% and domestic use at 15 percent.
Water consumption in the rest three given areas of the world, namely Central and South East Asia and Africa, is almost similar, with a few differences. Water utilization for agriculture motive stands out to be the maximum in all the three countries, with Africa at 84%, Central Asia at 88% and South East Asia at 81 percent. The proportion of water used by local people at homes is second in terms of usage, with the exception of South East Asia. About 9% of water in Africa and 7% in Central Asia is used for domestic purposes while the proportion is 7% in South East Asia where Industries consume 12% of water available.
The least proportion of water is used for industries in Africa and Central Asia, at 9% and 5% respectively.
