the graph below shows the number of overseas visitors to there different areas in the European country between 1987 and 2007

The graph provides data on foreigners visiting three regions in a European nation within 20 years. From an overall perspective, the rate of visitors to three areas all witnessed a rise between 1987 and 2007, and the lakes area had the most rapid and exceptional changes in the time period.
In 1987, standing at 10 thousand, the lakes welcomed the least tourists among of 3 places. However, they observed an intense growth in the next 10 years, as the number of oversea visitors had grown times as much as it was. The figure kept going up until its rapid rise in 1997 and peaked in 2002 at around 75 thousand people before dropping dramatically 5 years later to only 50 thousand.
The coastal region had the most travelers in 1987 with 40 thousand of visits. Even though its figure slightly fell five years later, it witnessed a stable and strong upward trend from then to 2007. The mountains area is different from the others, as it was the only one with a moderated and steady growth in 20 years
