Given are the bar charts depicting the home Internet use of Australians, divided by various reasons and age groups.
Perceptibly, most Australian residents use the Internet for Emailing purpose. Besides, there was a similarity in the amount of people who use the Internet for Emailing and Paying bills online or online banking among all ages, social networking accession seems more popular to younger people than the older.
It is noticeable that there was approximately 95% of Australian home Internet users access the Internet to send and receive Email, whereas roughly 60% use the Internet for the other two aforementioned purposes. To be more accurate, about 80% of all age groups’ users go online because of emailing services needed.
In terms of the amount of Australians who use the Internet for online payment, there was a parallel shared among all ages, similar with emailing figures’ trend, with about 40-60% recorded. In reverse, the figure contrasts that the older people are, the less attracted by the social network; therefore, while about 90% of 15-24-year-olds people use the Internet for Social networking, merely 20% of 65 years old and older residents access the Internet for the same purpose.
