As can be seen on charts, the proportion of households using washing machine, refrigerator and vacuum cleaner witnessed an increase trend while amount of time which these household used for doing chores at home experienced a reverse trend between 1920 and 2019.
To begin with the first chart, the rate of families applying fridges begun at the lowest point of chart, with just around 1% in 1920 but after 40 years, this figure rose significantly to exactly 90% before increased lightly by 10% in 1980, which reached maximum percentage at 100%. In addition, this rate was stable for the last 39 years. In terms of vacuum cleaner, the ratio for these devices witnesses a dramatically rise from around 30% to 100% between 1920 and 2019 while the data on washing machine went up quickly from 40% to 70% over 40 years since 1920 before it dropped slightly by 5% after 20 years. 39 years later, it reached roughly 75%, which was lower than figure for others electronic devices.
On the one hand, the amount of hours per week which a family spent on doing housework experienced a significantly decrease of 30 hours over 40 years since 1920 before it keep going down slowly to 10 hour per week after 59 years.
