WRITING TASK 1 . MAP
The two pictures depict the changes taking place in the village of StokeFord over the period of 80 years.
Overall, it is glaringly obvious/ apparent that the major change to the area involves the erection of housing on the original site of old farm lands.
As stated, the principal development to the village is that a large number of houses was built along the road running parallel the river. Another notable change rendering its layout relatively different from that in 1930 was the expansion of roads leading to where the houses were located.
Furthermore, the size of the garden was reduced by approximately a third to make room for the extension of the large house behind the primary school, converting it into the retirement home. The primary school was enlarged by the addition of two houses. Finally, there were no changes to the bridge to the northeast of the village and the post office opposite the school for students ranging in age from 7 to 12.
