Overall, the trends are reversed as the high season of rainfall in Cape Town is during June until August, while rain season occurs around March in Upington. The dramatic changes in weather throughout a year happen regularly in Upington, whereas the weather is less swing in Cape Town.
Starting with 25C in January, the temperature in Upington rockets to the peak at 38C in March, when the amount of rainfall is peaked as well at 190 mm. Few months later, the average temperature and precipitation level drop noticeably to 10C and 50 mm in May, declining to the lowest point at 3C and 5 mm in July. The gradual rise of temperature and rainfall happens in August to October, then the figure increases to 85 mm and 18C in November and December.
