The reading provides three ways to address the decline of Torreya, which is a type of trees that soon will become extinct. On the other hand, the professor refutes each author's Torreya's survival ways and argues with them logically.
First, the reading explains the first way. In this way we could reestablish Torreya in the same location that it used to live for thousands of years. Torrya's sites are in northern part of Florida, which has a distinctive micro climate, wetter and cooler differs from its surrounding relatively dried regions. On the contrary, the professor mentions that this way is not efficient. She states that micro climate areas are easily affected by large scale changing around them. That is because surrounding micro climate regions causes global warming and draining wetlands. So, Torreya has no chance to survive there.
Second, the readings states that humans could interfere and migrate Torreya to suitable environment. In contrast, the professor aware us by saying that if humans interrupt, other species which are in extinction dangers right now would vanish right away. All because, Torreya would spread so quickly.
Last but not least, the reading claims that scientists could preserve Torreya in laboratory and researching centers in order to monitor them and protect them. In addition, this observation may be used to continued survival of species. Nevertheless, the professor accounts this way by saying that there are no laboratories as huge as Torreya's appropriate environment. Also, those research centers must have abundant capacity and genetically diverse.
