The table represents the shift in types of travel in England 1985 and 2000. There are more than five modes to travel, and every type is measured on their total distance in miles.
Overall, in the near distance, the England travellers used to take on three types of vehicle, taxi, long distance bus, and bicycle. In 1985, those vehicles never travelled far more than 55 miles. In contrary, in 2000, bicycle and taxi stood at below 43 miles, but long distance bus reached at 124 miles.
In addition, in the far way distance, these modes of travel, walking, car, local bus train, and other, had been dominating in the number of miles by average England commuters. The top of them was the car, the car had been selected to go far more than 2,000 miles, while others were below 600 miles.
To sum up, The England commuters went in the longer distance in 2000 than in 1985. The England travellers travelled 4,740 miles in 1985, then increased slightly 3,000 miles in 2000.
