The maps depict the changes that took place in Stokefield village between 1930 and 2010. Although there are a few similarities between both maps, the village transformed from being predominantly farm land to a more residential community.
Due to the increase in the number of homes, new roads have had to have been built. By 2010, two roads in the northern part of the village, running perpendicular to the central road, provide connections to the new homes that have replaced farmland on the east and to those that have replaced shops on the west. The primary school has undergone some considerable expansion with two parallel units extending towards the east.
Towards the central part of the village, a street branching off of the main pre-existing road provides access to the new homes on the western side of the central road. The large house from 1930 has been converted into a retirement home, with an addition of two wings and the surrounding garden has been reduced almost by half to make room for new homes. The path that led to the big house in 1970 has also been developed into a connecting road. The farmland on the southern part of the map has also been completely replaced by new settlement.
Overall, despite the town's urban development and the disappearance of arable land, its post office and the central road have remained unperturbed over the years.
