The bar chart compares the number of the mobile phones sold all over the world by five famous manufacturers in the years 2009, 2011 and 2013.
It is clear that Nokia sold the most cell phones in 2009 and 2011, Samsung became the best-selling brand in 2013. Apple and Samsung saw the biggest increases in mobile sales.
In 2009, Nokia sold about 450 million units, which was almost double the number of handsets sold by Samsung. Over the following years, Nokia experienced a considerable drop in mobile sales to 230 million units. By contrast, Samsung’s sales figures increased significantly to 450 million handsets and became the leader market with cell phone sales in 2013.
The other three top selling handy device brands from 2009 to 2013 were Apple, ZTE, LG. In 2009, these corporations sold around 25 million, 50 million, 125 million handy devices respectively, but Apple overtook the other companies in 2011. In 2013, LG saw declining sales and the figures for ZTE rose only slightly, compared to a dramatic rise in cell phone sales, approximately 150 million units.
