The table compares some information of the underground railway systems in six cities which is the date of opening, lengths of routes in kilometres and the annual number of passengers per year in millions.
It is clear that London has the newest built subway as well as the longest covered route. On the other hand, the one in Los Angeles, which was opened most lately, covers a sharply shorter route than the others.
Out of six cities, the underground railway in London was launched firstly in 1863, it also has the longest route of 394 kilometres. Meanwhile, Paris and Tokyo seem to have busier subways compared to the others with the highest numbers of passengers each year (1191 million and 1927 million).
It can be clearly seen that Los Angeles has the newest railway service, which was opened in 2001. It has the second shortest route of 28 kilometres, just 17 kilometres longer than the Kyoto one’s (11 kilometres). These two cities’ underground railways also have the lowest numbers of guests annually among the six cities, which were 45 million people in Kyoto and 50 million people in Los Angeles.
